Automatic Schedule Creation and Visualization with TACTIC - Celton McGrath - 12-05-2019 Hi TACTICians! In case you didn't know, TACTIC can automatically create schedules for you based on your workflow. This is just one benefit of using a TACTIC workflow, and has existed in TACTIC for quite some time. We have added a preview feature that will now allow you to visualize your ideal schedule before finishing your workflow. When you have a business process that is consistent, with the same flow and order of tasks from project to project, you can create an ideal schedule based off of that workflow. Below is an example workflow for a creative project that handles assets. Using the TACTIC workflow editor, we can assign duration values for each process in days. TACTIC will build the schedule based of the dependencies and duration values in the workflow. You can use the preview button in the workflow toolbar to view the schedule. Here are some benefits of the using the TACTIC scheduling feature: Parallel processes - The schedule considers parallel processes and creates an end date for two parallel streams based off of the longer duration stream. For example, in the demo workflow, Ingest does not begin until Contact is finished, even though Kickoff is scheduled to finish earlier. Business days - The schedule skips weekends and only schedules on business days. Automatic processes - The schedule works flawlessly with automatic processes and conditionals. The community site has it's own demo workflow editor - try out the new schedule preview feature here, http://community.southpawtech.com/community/link/workflow Best, Celton RE: Automatic Schedule Creation and Visualization with TACTIC - listy - 12-05-2019 Hi! I found that there is some new items in Connectors, Yes/No/True/False. What is this for? Some kind of logic between nodes? Can you share some good(complex) examples of using all of the possible functionality. Can i for example build my own NOTIFICATIONS process with three of dependencies and triggers in a form where it could be customized by not-so-skilled client? TACTIC 4.7 implementation of workflow is completely different than in 4.5, i'd like to see all new benefits of it, and possibly use it RE: Automatic Schedule Creation and Visualization with TACTIC - remkonoteboom - 12-05-2019 Yes, you can create completely custom nodes with their own look in the pipeline editor, configuration form on the right panel and processing in the workflow engine. More to come on that. We're working on the documentation, examples, etc. RE: Automatic Schedule Creation and Visualization with TACTIC - remkonoteboom - 12-05-2019 As an example, here is one of my test workflows using various custom nodes we have built internally.
