Hi!
I know that you can "subscribe" to any SObject through the menu. But the standard subscription bar is outdated, and will not work with modern UI.
Are there anything planned in this direction?
As well as web notifications that are natively integrated into the operating system?
Or something like a bell in YouTube in the corner of the page?

I looked through the code. It appears that there is a lot there, but it's quite disjointed. I see that many things were tried, but ultimately, nothing was really completed. There is a good infrastructure for subscribing to sobjects and a few test widgets.
I think this could be resurrected if there was a specific goal to use this for.

Like tracking all changes for specific SObject, including notes, tasks/statuses, check-ins.
Subscribe to item > see all changes history + notification if something new.

Yes, this is what it was originally intended for. The SubscriptionWdg is supposed to display this info, but I am not sure if the trigger to notify the subscribers exists or is enabled.
